Edgewater
If you take a short scenic drive out of Annapolis and over the South River bridge, you’ll find yourself in Edgewater, a pleasant suburb with a rich history. Edgewater has about 9,700 residents and exudes a sense of small-town community, where neighbors help each other out and local businesses treat their patrons like family. Edgewater lies 8 miles south of Annapolis, 30 miles east of Washington D.C., and 34 miles south of Baltimore.
Within Edgewater, you can find the London Town area, surrounded on three sides by waterways—the South River, Almshouse Creek, and Glebe Bay. Visitors should be sure to check out Historic London Town and Gardens, a 23-acre waterfront park housing several colonial era buildings and a sprawling garden. The grounds and facilities are available to rent for picturesque waterfront weddings.
With lots of restaurant and shopping options, Edgewater makes a fantastic day trip for visitors and locals alike.
