Weather

Marylanders love to joke about our weather—it could be a humid, 80-degree day, and then snow the next day! Anne Arundel County tends to have hot summers and cold to mild winters. The county gets about 40 inches of rain and 20 inches of snow per year. The coldest month is January, when temperatures average 34°F and the hottest month is July, with an average temp of 79°F.

Anne Arundel County has so much to offer year-round, no matter the weather! Take in a summer day at Sandy Point State Park’s beaches, with a view of the great Chesapeake Bay Bridge. In the fall, enjoy a scenic drive through the woodsy farmlands of Davidsonville. In winter, lace up your skates and go ice-skating at Quiet Waters Park or browse the elaborate holiday displays at Homestead Gardens nurseries. And in the mild spring weather, take your pick of the county’s 140 parks for a nature walk or to visit some farm animals. Of course, any time of year is perfect for taking in the historic sites on a downtown Annapolis tour, or strolling by the shops and restaurants on Main Street!
