The State House is open to the public every day from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., except Christmas and New Years Day. To help make your visit to the Maryland State House more enjoyable, and to provide you with an understanding of its rich and historic past, self-guided tour information is available in the Office of Interpretation on the first floor.

Governor Larry Hogan's Holiday Open House

Governor Larry Hogan and First Lady Yumi Hogan invite Marylanders and their families to join them for a Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 9, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Government House. Come sip hot Wassail and meet the Governor and First Lady. This event is free of charge, open to the public, and no reservations are required.

Enjoy this annual open house featuring performances by young musicians and vocalists from throughout Maryland. The oldest State House in continuous legislative use in the nation will be adorned with 24 Christmas trees representing every Maryland county and Baltimore City. Photo identification is required for individuals age 16 and older. This year’s lineup includes: 5:30  Bates Performing Arts Chorus (Bates Middle School) 6:00 Institute of Notre Dame Chorus 6:30 Chesapeake Youth Symphony Senior Flute Ensemble 7:00 All Children's Chorus of Annapolis 7:30 Allegro Children's Chorus (Easton) 8:00 Annapolis Area Christian School Madrigal Singers, and Bell Arte 8:30 Severna Park Middle School Varsity Choir Admission: Free http://msa.maryland.gov/msa/mdstatehouse/html/home.html

2017 Maryland State House Holiday Display

The 2017 Maryland State House Holiday Display will will take place November 30th through January 3rd. The State House Rotunda will be lined with decorated trees and wreaths, provided by Garden Clubs from every jurisdiction in Maryland. The State House will be open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM With the exception of Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
