Sadly, with summer coming to a close, it's time to pack away the coolers, umbrellas, and beach chairs; but not without one last party. On Saturday, September 17, the Annapolis Craft Beer and Music Festival offers a great way to close out the summer and get a jump start on Annapolis' fall festivities. Come experience over 120 beers from more than 45 regional and national craft breweries, live bands performing throughout the day, three craft brew seminars, and food at the Annapolis Craft Beer and Music Festival. This fun last-summer fling takes place at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

It's All about the Beer

Beer geeks know a good beer when they try one. At the Annapolis Craft Beer and Music Festival, take your time to sample some names you haven't heard of. With 40 breweries and over 100 beers showcased at the festival, finding a new taste is easy. After checking out the tents and putting back a few, head to one of the festival's craft brew seminars to fine-tune your expertise. Learn about beer styles and food pairings or discover how certain foods complement specific brews. For the novice beer geek, there is a Craft Beer 101 seminar, offering up tons of basic craft beer knowledge.

You must pre-register at the Volunteer Tent on the day of the event for the seminars which are on a first come first serve basis.

Live Music and Craft Beer

With beer in hand, head over to the Pilsner Stage at noon for the first live performance of the day: Jeremy Ragsdale. Spark, Raymond and McCoy, along with TJShaw and Mudwagon, followed by Michael McHenry, supplying the tunes throughout the festival while you sample the brews. Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged.

More to Do at the Festival

After sampling the beers, head over to the many arts and crafts tents to view and purchase regional and national artwork. Paintings, photographs, nautical art, jewelry and glass, metal, and leather art will be on display.

Enjoy the food at the concession court. The menu includes pit beef, barbeque, vegetarian selections, seafood, non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, and more.

The event is open to all ages, and to dogs. Tickets are $40 ($20 for designated drivers and $10 for ages 13-20) and can be purchased online, or at the gate the day of the festival. Tickets include a souvenir beer glass and unlimited samples at the brewery tents. Plenty of parking is available at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium for $5 per car.

Stay the weekend in Annapolis and make the most out of the Craft Beer & Music Festival! There are a ton of great hotel and alternative lodging options available across the city.
